One of the key landmarks of Turner’s Cross is the iconic Church of Christ The King, created by architect Barry Byrne and sculptor John Storrs. It was commissioned in 1927 by Rev Daniel Cohalan D.D., Bishop of Cork. The building was the first Irish church to be constructed in concrete instead of traditional masonry and the interior is notable for its clear span with no subdividing columns.
