St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral is the Cathedral of the Church of Ireland
in Cork, part of the combined Diocese of Cork, Cloyne and Ross. Consecrated in 1870, it was built under the close supervision of the architect William Burges who had won a competition for its design.
The building design is of national significance in Ireland. It is located
on a site where Christian worship has been offered since the seventh century when St. Finbarr first established his monastery here.
